State Fair

At the state fair, ~C~ wanted to pick out the fastest ride there.  This one was so fast that there was no chance of trying to get a picture while he was on it!  He liked it, but said it was really fast!

~K~ wanted to ride some of the rides too, but took a calmer approach, the train and a motorcycle ride.

But this one got a little fast for her.

We had to take a break, it was hot and our feet were tired from all that walking so we went to watch a bird show.  It was an informative and entertaining little show.  They trained the birds to do tricks and fly back and forth between trainers.  It was pretty neat, but the best part was if you made a donation this guy would take your money right out of your hand and put it in the box for you.  We gave both ~C~ and ~K~ dollars to give to the bird and they thought it was a cool trick.

We didnt go on the farris wheel, but whats a trip to the fair without a picture at least.

We headed indoors to the petting zoo, and ~E~ liked to pet the cows.

The llamas were so soft, she did'nt know what to think of them.

~C~ looks good leading a llama around. I asked him if he would like to get into showing them, but he was'nt interested in that.

1/2 birthday

Yep, that's right. ~E~ is 6 months old now, and as pretty as a picture.

Fishing Trip

This was a great day to take the kids fishing at the lake.  So we got dressed early, stopped for dough nuts along the way and headed out.

They were a little dissapointed that we didnt catch anything.

~C~ decided to keep trying different spots until he found a good one,

While ~K~ decided to try a different approach- just call the fish to us!!

When that didnt work, she went a whole new direction-play with the minnows!  They're fish right?  Why spend all that time throwing out a line, waiting, and then fighting to reel in that fish, when there are cute little ones swinning around right here in front of her.  Makes sence, right?

Apparently ~C~ thought it was a good idea too because soon he joined in.

And to be fair to the fish, she used a little piece of wood to "catch" them.

~E~ had a good time playing on the blanket under the shade tree.

Then it was time to go, so they were good sports and let their "catch" go

Well.....more like "threw them back"

But wait!  What's for dinner?  How about FISH!

Daddy thought he would show ~E~ a minnow, she thought she'd show Daddy how to eat the minnow!

Morning at the park

On this beautiful morning, the girls and I decided to take a stroll down to the park to swing for a bit.
~E~ LOVED the swings, she was so peaceful just swaying back and forth.

While Miss Scaredy Cat over here was terrified of swaying back and forth and held on for dear life like she was flying over the ocean in a rickety plane that could go down at any minute.  She kept saying "help me"
It was a pretty funny sight to see the baby swinging faster (and enjoying it) than her big sister.

A day at the Arboretum

We came here with our mommy group to practice bokah with our cameras, but I didnt have the right lens to get the effect I was looking for so we spent the day just having fun and enjoying the fall weather.

~K~ found these trees to play in and was having so much fun playing peek a boo with me.  This is my favorite picture of her in the trees.

She found the pumpkins that lined the sidewalk and had to play in them

Then she seen the koy fish!  She could have spent all day looking at these fish.  At one point I though she was going to jump in and swim with them, and she almost cried when I had to drag her away from them so we could see the rest of the park.

It was all short lived though, because soon she found a waterfall that caught her attention.

~E~, on the other hand, was not into looking at flowers, or fish, or waterfalls or anything.  On a good note, I was able to snap a picture of that famous lip we see often when she doesnt get her way.
