Happy Mothers Day

I had a great Mothers Day, as I do every Mothers Day. I am so blessed that God gave me healthy, beautiful, amazing children. They truly are the light of my life. This year I enjoyed getting to be called Mom for a third time. I have 10 Mothers Days under my belt now, and am thankful for each and every one of them, and they keep getting better with time. It's not about the gifts, it's about this:

Getting to have all my babies around me!

Daddy did a great job surprising me with this bouquet of sweet smelling roses!

And the removable hard drive for my computer I've been wanting. Not to mention dinner at the Melting Pot too! I am a lucky girl!

Mmmmmmm

Craving some cookies. I need to find a recipe. Oh good, found one-cracked sugar cookies!


First crack the egg....


hhmmm. Should have cracked it in the bowl. That might have worked out better!

Next add the shortening. Then some brown sugar.

A little salt. A tad of cream of tarter.

And mix it up real good.

Next form the dough into little balls.

Roll them in sugar.

Place on the cookie sheet.

Oh hurry cookie, I really want to eat you.

They actually crack when they bake!

FINALLY I get to eat this delicious cookie. Mmmmm tastes so good.

This was one of my favorite memories as a kid, my mom baking these kind of cookies. When I knew she was baking them, my mouth would always start to water. Baking cracked sugar cookies brings me back to a great time with my mom, I hope I can pass on this tradition to my kids.

Tea Party

We went to a Mother's Day tea party with our moms group on the Friday before Mother's Day.

~K~ actually wanted to pose for a picture!

She sure enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies.

~E~ got dressed up too! She enjoyed being out in the sunshine.

Unfortunately we were at the melt down point before we could get a group photo in, but took the opportunity to take a picture of us girls all dolled up after naps!
