Its a Zoo in Here

We spent the day at the zoo today and ~K~ was just in awe of all the beautiful animals.  It was a great day because all the animals were really active, so we got some awesome quality time with them.
This cute penguin must have really liked ~K~, he kept coming over to her and looking at her.

Oh her favorite!  The elephants.  She was just in heaven standing next to these sculptures and sitting on them.  I had to convince her to leave this area to go see the real things.

They were so neat to see, they were all fairly close to the fence, so it felt very personal.

And speaking of personal, we were close enough to the giraffes to be licked!  Yes, you were actually able to feed the giraffes pieces of lettuce.  You stand on the lookout type balcony and they walk right up to you and practically take the lettuce out of your hand.  It was the best experience ever.

Watching the trainers work with the big cats was neat to see also.  They were behind glass for safety, but it still felt very personal.

At the children's petting zoo, they have this huge tank full of koi fish.  There is also a "gumball" type feeder that you can put in a quarter and get a hand full of food to feed them.  One of the fish jumped up and splashed us. ~K~ of coarse liked to put her fingers in and touch them.

Also in the children's petting zoo, you could go in and interact with the goats. They would let you pet them and play with them.  Some of them were really soft and they were all very sweet, but you had to watch out, they would try to nibble at your pants!

She loved them so much that she was giving this one a kiss.

Feeding Her Sister

This is a sight that is rarely seen at our house, ~K~ being nice to ~E~!
But today ~K~ decided that she would like to give feeding ~E~ some baby food a try.  She did great, got it in her mouth perfectly, little messy, but ~E~ is a messy eater anyway.

I am loving the look on ~E~'s face-she's scared to death to put anything her sister trys to give her in her mouth.  I'm sure her thought is "looks like baby food, taste like baby food, but ~K~ is giving it to me, I should be cautious."

In a Pickle

We were making cheese burgers for dinner tonight and ~E~ kept wanting the pickles, but I thought she would think they are too tart and not like it but I gave it to her anyway.
She had to inspect it for a minute or two.

Slowly took a bite(more like suck on the pickle)

TA DA!  She loved it, and now everytime she sees the jar she thinks she needs a pickle!

Photoshoot in the Park

We thought we would head over to the park today for a photoshoot.  The weather was perfect to be outside and the girls had so much fun.  I got some great pictures of them too.

This cowboy had belongs to one of our friends, and started a long battle over cowboy hats.  Every time she would look at the pictures I took today and she saw someone else wearing it, she would whine and cry "cowboy hat"      Hmmmm good thing Christmas is right around the corner!

State Fair

At the state fair, ~C~ wanted to pick out the fastest ride there.  This one was so fast that there was no chance of trying to get a picture while he was on it!  He liked it, but said it was really fast!

~K~ wanted to ride some of the rides too, but took a calmer approach, the train and a motorcycle ride.

But this one got a little fast for her.

We had to take a break, it was hot and our feet were tired from all that walking so we went to watch a bird show.  It was an informative and entertaining little show.  They trained the birds to do tricks and fly back and forth between trainers.  It was pretty neat, but the best part was if you made a donation this guy would take your money right out of your hand and put it in the box for you.  We gave both ~C~ and ~K~ dollars to give to the bird and they thought it was a cool trick.

We didnt go on the farris wheel, but whats a trip to the fair without a picture at least.

We headed indoors to the petting zoo, and ~E~ liked to pet the cows.

The llamas were so soft, she did'nt know what to think of them.

~C~ looks good leading a llama around. I asked him if he would like to get into showing them, but he was'nt interested in that.

1/2 birthday

Yep, that's right. ~E~ is 6 months old now, and as pretty as a picture.
